West Virginia women join Big East elite.

No. 1 Connecticut and No. 4 Rutgers have long been among the elite women's basketball programs in the Big East. This season, add No. 13 West Virginia to that list. The Mountaineers (22-4, 11-2) are just one game out of first place with three regular-season games remaining in the nation's toughest conference. They play at No. 21 Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. With Connecticut and Rutgers playing each other to finish their regular seasons, West Virginia can grab no worse than a tie for second place and match the most regular-season victories in school history by winning out — including matchups against Louisville and No. 24 Syracuse. The Mountaineers never have finished higher than fourth in Big East play.
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
