UCONN’S Maya Moore responds to challenge in rout.
Freshman Maya Moore had a puzzled look on her face Friday. She was trying to put into her words why she had not gotten into a smooth rhythm offensively in each of the past two games. UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma didn't have the same trouble finding those words. He felt she was looking to pass more than a player with her ability should be. And he made sure to alert Moore of his sentiment. The only thing Moore said was that she hoped those games were now in the past. If Saturday's performance against Hartford is any indication, they have clearly been forgotten. She scored a game-high 21 points and had seven rebounds and two steals to lead the top-ranked Huskies to a 70-24 rout of Hartford before 14,581 at the XL Center.
