UCONN Freshmen adjusting to next level.
As anxious as they were to get started, Lorin Dixon and Maya Moore were happy when the University of Connecticut women's basketball team's first practice was over Saturday morning. Welcome to the next level, freshmen. "I think the hardest part of practice was the running and then the drills," Dixon said after the nearly three-hour workout at Gampel Pavilion. "It takes a lot out of you. It's tough. In high school you're used to everything and now I have to work my way up. "I have a great opportunity to learn from Renee (Montgomery) and Ketia (Swanier). They help me and that will make me better and better." Moore had ice bags on her knees as a precautionary measure Saturday.
