The season for knee injuries hits top teams.



The injury has been a scourge for decades. It's been often reported that a women's basketball player is five to nine times more likely to tear an anterior cruciate knee ligament than a male player. Despite the advances in sports medicine, there's no definite reason for the disparity. Despite training programs to reduce the rate of ACL injuries, the injury occurs too often. The injuries this season seem especially devastating.
