Terwilliger: WNBA will be good for Atlanta.
Trammell Crow Residential Chairman and CEO Ron Terwilliger has wanted to own a pro sports team for a while and he now has his opportunity as owner of Atlanta's expansion franchise in the WNBA, the women's professional basketball league. "It will be good for Atlanta," Terwilliger said. "I'm a former college basketball and baseball player. I have two daughters and I think women should be represented. Atlanta should support this. I don't want people to think of me as the owner but to think of the community as the owner of the team." Terwilliger said the WNBA saw Atlanta as a key location. It once had a franchise in Charlotte but league officials felt they had a hole in the Southeast, Terwilliger said.
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
