Oklahoma City will flood with March Madness if either Cowgirls or Sooners land in downtown regional.
Not only do both OU and OSU sport teams appear capable of deep NCAA Tournament runs, one of the four regionals will be staged at the Ford Center, March 30 and April 1. If the Sooners or Cowgirls or both land downtown in the Sweet 16, Oklahoma City will bubble with basketball excitement. “I think we learned last year at the Big 12 Tournament that people will come out in droves for women's basketball,” said OU coach Sherri Coale. “It's a tremendous feeling to be able to take the floor in that kind of environment.” The Sooners stormed to the Big 12 championship last March at the Cox Center, playing in front of crowds of 12,413; 10,102; and 10,210. Expect something similar across the street at the Ford Center, should the Sooners be placed in the OKC regional and win their first two games.
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
