Bedlam gives Cowgirls top rating ever.
The Oklahoma State Cowgirls soaked in the moment of ending a Bedlam losing streak in front of the largest women's basketball crowd in state history Saturday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Two days later, the Cowgirls set another record. Bolstered by an 82-63 win over Oklahoma, the Cowgirls are ranked No. 18 in this week's AP poll, their highest ranking in school history. Andrea Riley, who scored a career-high 45 points against the Sooners, was named Big 12 Player of the Week. OSU's previous highest women's ranking was No. 19 two separate weeks during the 1995-96 season under coach Dick Halterman. The Sooners fell to No. 11. "There is room for two great teams in this state,” said OSU coach Kurt Budke. "But we still have a long way to go to catch them.”
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
