Auriemma looking for normalcy in wake of injuries.

In the wake of lineup chaos, University of Connecticut women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma is on a quest for a bit of normalcy. Auriemma’s best laid plans were also thrown out of whack last month when the Huskies’ starting small forward Kalana Greene suffered a season-ending knee injury. He reluctantly moved freshman Maya Moore into the starting lineup. When top-ranked UConn lost starting shooting guard Mel Thomas to a season-ending knee injury in Tuesday’s win over Syracuse, Auriemma pondered the possibilities. Eschewing the obvious answer of moving senior Ketia Swanier into the starting lineup and weakening UConn’s bench even more, Auriemma chose to give freshman Lorin Dixon her first career start when the unbeaten Huskies play host to Cincinnati today (noon, CPTV) at the XL Center.
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
