Arkansas Lady Razorbacks Off to Scary Start Under Collen.

There's no delicate way to put this. First-year Arkansas women's basketball coach Tom Collen is rooting for his team to lose. Collen won't be happy with any ol' loss either. He wants a big one, and you know what's worse? His players are rooting for it, too. OK, perhaps "rooting" is too strong a word, but Collen and the Lady Razorbacks really are anxious to endure their first tough loss. They're off to the best start in school history - 12-0 at press time - but are more interested in preventing a losing skid than continuing their current winning streak. It sounds odd, but there's a lot of sense in that line of thinking. When a team is 12-0 it's hard not to believe things are being done right. There's a certain level of accomplishment that players and coaches feel right now and they feel it for good reason. That said, Arkansas will find out much more about itself the first time it loses to a superior Southeastern Conference opponent. It's going to take a loss -and perhaps a really, really bad one - for Collen to really find out what his first Lady Razorbacks team is made of.
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
