Perfection is so fragile. One little blemish, and it's gone. One slight misstep, and it slips into the obscure realm of mere greatness. The UConn women's basketball team still holds precariously onto its bid for a perfect record this season, but that quest seems anything but perfect this morning as the Huskies face the sad reality of their fragility. Mel Thomas, the seemingly indestructible heart of the Huskies, became the second UConn starter in less than a month to suffer an abrupt and cruel end to her season, and perhaps her basketball career, with a knee injury.
