A year later, Knights are better team.
It was one year ago today when the 2006-07 Rutgers University women's basketball season took an abrupt and dramatic turn, as defeat would teach more than any victory. Following a 72-55 loss at Old Dominion, a seven-hour bus ride back from Virginia resulted in a 3 a.m. announcement by coach C. Vivian Stringer. Her team would not be allowed to dress, shower or hang out in their dressing room until further notice. Approaching their 11th game of the season with a 5-5 record, the team wasn't even allowed to wear Rutgers' gear in practice. Not only were they playing like a YWCA team, they looked like one as well. They were not worthy.
Women's hoops, and nothin' but the hoops.
