During his 23 years as UConn's coach, Geno Auriemma has had relationships with players that have beguiled and bewildered him. Still, it's unlikely that he had experienced anything like his dealings with senior Charde Houston. "No, I've never," Auriemma said. "It's a little different. Every kid is different. Everyone is unique in their own way. Sometimes when kids are freshmen, they just aren't talented enough to play, even as sophomores or juniors. But sometimes kids manage to progress. And sometimes it doesn't happen that way."
