If she has ever been nervous about taking the reins of one of the more prestigious jobs in women’s basketball, Coquese Washington has never shown it. Spend a few moments in her presence and Washington will flash a smile that will light up a room. She shows boundless energy, joking that, “I could play 40 minutes if they gave me some more eligibility.” Washington, with an athlete’s build and a distinct dreadlocks hairstyle, still looks young enough to mix it up with her players, just like she did as a player at Notre Dame and for seven professional seasons in the WNBA and ABL.
